The community needs you!

One of the main values of a community is mutual help! Sharing knowledge for cultural and practical purposes it’s not just useful in itself but it also helps to keep the community’s identity alive.

“Backhillonline”, the online magazine of the Anglo-Italian community would like to invite you to share your knowledge and life experiences with us!

How many times do we need an information and we find ourselves browsing the internet looking for a professional service, a hotel or a recipe? How much nicer it would be if we could get that information from people we trust in our community? It would make things easier wouldn’t it?

This is why we would like to invite you to contribute to “Backhillonline” submitting your stories, opinions, life experiences or recommending professional services.

We’d like the website to be a virtual meeting point, rather than just a magazine, where the community makes its voice heard.

You can find below some suggestions on subjects, professional services and activities we might find interesting for the community but feel free to submit any other issue, that comes to your mind, which you think could be interesting or useful for our Anglo-Italian community.

You could recommend to other readers: bilingual nannies, Italian tutors, Italian delicatessens, Italian restaurants, sports clubs for children (football clubs, dance classes, swimming pool lessons) but also give advice on good locations for parties for the little ones or recommend some party animators. Books, films and cultural events are also very welcome.

We all know how difficult it is to choose the right telephone company provider, or to find a plumber you can trust, so why not let other people know if you dealt with good plumbers, electricians, satellite installers, builders, furniture suppliers, gardeners, pc repairers, removal services etc.

Suggestions on accountants, tax advisors, solicitors, estate agents, financial advisors, dentists, opticians could also be very useful.

Your story is fundamental for us. If you want to tell your family’s history, your own history or talk about the area in Italy where your ancestors came from, we’ll be pleased to publish it on the website.

We are also keen on knowing your feelings and emotions. What did it feel like going back to your ancestors’ home town in Italy? What struck you on you visit there? Are there hotels, local markets, sporting activities, restaurants, coffee shops, bars, shops and nightclubs you’d recommend? Your pictures and video from “you tube” are also very welcome .
