Milan Fashion Week September 2012

Not only the Autumn begins in September but also the international fashion season takes off. This is the time of the year when, as far as dressing is concerned, the big fashion houses rule and orientate the taste of the public.

The fashion wave moved from New York to London and then to Milan from 19th to the 25th of September.

The Milan fashion week, established in 1958, is a trade show held twice a year. “La settimana della moda”, is the third of four international fashion weeks: New York fashion week; London fashion week, Milan fashion week and Paris fashion week.

For seven days twice a year Milan becomes the capital of international  fashion with a rich schedule of catwalks and international events.

Nevertheless, even the catwalk has been hit by the economical crisis. According to the National Chamber of Italian Fashion sales of Italian fashion are expected to fall 5.6 percent this year after growing 6 percent last year. This figure makes Italy the worst performing market in the global luxury industry.

The main trend for the Italian fashion has been Italian brands insisting on the value of craftsmanship, the traditional Italian trademark.

Global economic concerns were expressed by the Italian stylists by opting for more wearable shapes and neutral shades.

The preoccupation of copying by fast fashion chains was on the other hand overcome by the use of elaborated embroideries, impossible to imitate (Rocco Barocco, Roberto Cavalli).

Armani presented an androgynous style for his collection, made out of masculine tight jackets in contrast with more gentile trousers.

The most acclaimed was Miuccia Prada’s collection which surprised the audience with a Japanese-inspired style. According to many fashion journalists Prada confirmed to be one of the most independent and creative artists in the industry.

Many others world famous brands presented their winter collection.
Among them: Alviero Martini Collection, Paola Frani, Mila Schön, Simonetta Ravizza,Gucci, John Richmond, Alberta Ferretti, Francesco Scognamiglio, Max Mara, Blugirl, Emporio Armani, Silvio Betterelli, Ermanno Scervino, Roccobarocco, Krizia, Jo No Fui, Prada, Daniela Gregis,  Moschino,Les Copains, Just Cavalli, Etro, C'N'C Costume National, Iceberg, Blumarine, Sportmax, Gabriele Colangelo, Versace, Aigner,  Bottega Veneta, Frankie Morello, Maurizio Pecoraro, Fendi, Antonio Marras, Jil Sander,Cividini, Genny,Versus, Ter et Bantine,Emilio Pucci, Aquilano, Rimondi, Roberto Musso,Marni,Trussardi, Laura Biagiotti, Dolce & Gabbana, Byblos Milano, Missoni, Marco de Vincenzo, Salvatore Ferragamo, Giorgio Armani, DSquared2, Massimo Rebecchi, Roberto Cavalli, Gianfranco Ferré, Luisa Beccaria, Normaluisa, Lorenzo Riva,Cristiano Burani, Sergei Grinko, Basharatyan, Francesca Liberatore, Mauro Gasperi, Moi Multiple.
